PARTNERS: Georgia Foundation/ Georgian Diaspora en NGO NINA in Georgia

In October 2009 Georgian Diaspora in consortia with local NGO NINA, has signed a contract with EC-UN Joint Migration & Development Initiative for implementing the Turnaround Migration for Development Project (TMDP) in the city of Poti;

In December 2009 we have conducted the Labor Market Survey which has identified the most demanded professions in the City of Poti during the next five years. Our Dutch partners, the business school Rooi Pannen (www.derooipannen.nl ) and the Tilburg University (www.tilburguniversity.nl ), are developing the training methodologies and modules for 2 months retraining courses for the five most demanded professions by Poti employers (Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Management and Accounting modules).

A consortium is using the knowledge and experience of Georgian as well as foreign migrants to train 20 Trainers of Poti VET Center. 10 best trained trainers will be employed by the Poti VET Center and during 2010 they will train minimum 200 individuals in 5 most wanted professions. With in 3 years minimum 600 citizens can share the knowledge and practice of skilled migrants experienced in European companies and organizations. Information about trained individuals will be collected in Databank and introduced to the major employers of the city.
